  1. How is PixMaker Pro different from other 360-degree panoramic (graphic) software?
     
    • A simple 3-step creation process
      Unlike other products in the market, PixMaker software is extremely easy to use. In just 3 simple steps - Snap, Stitch, Publish!, - you can create your own 360-degree interactive PixMaker
    • No special equipment needed
      Some software requires you to buy a special camera or lenses to take your pictures. Not with PixMaker Pro. All you need is a digital camera (even a digital video camera will do) and the PixMaker Pro software. You can also snap your pictures with a 35mm film camera and then scan the photo prints into your computer.
    • Publish anywhere
      After stitching, you can choose to publish your images as 360° PixMaker Scenes, Webpages, Postcards or ActiveX, to share them with friends and family. Or if you prefer, you can print your PixMaker Scenes in partial or full panoramic view. Now you will also be able to carry around your PixMaker Scenes on your PalmOS® and Windows® CE based devices!
    • Customization
      With the PixMaker Pro, you will be able to add your own text, pictures, logo and links to your project.
    • Creation of Hotspots

    A PixMaker Scene refers to a full 360° or partial stitched image using Cylindrical, Flat, Object View or Montage option.

     
  5. What is a PixMaker Webpage?
    A PixMaker Webpage is a web page that contains PixMaker Scenes.

     
  6. What is the difference between a PixMaker Scene and a PixMaker Webpage?
    A PixMaker Scene can be a full 360° or partial Cylindrical, Flat or Object View image. Whereas a PixMaker Webpage is a web page that contains PixMaker Scenes.

     
  7. What is a PixMaker Postcard?
    This is a self-executable file containing a PixMaker Scene and a customizable message below the scene. To launch this file, all you need to do is double-click it.

     
  8. What is a PixMaker Stitcher project file (*.pim)?
    A PixMaker Stitcher project file is a saved copy of your selection of images, settings and parameters for manual alignment (if any) of your PixMaker project. This file allows you to stop work on a new project and return to it later to complete it.

     
  9. What is a PixMaker Hotspot project file (*.piw)?
    A PixMaker Hotspot project file is a saved copy of your selection of Scenes, Hotspots and settings (if any) of your PixMaker project. This file allows you to stop work on a new project and return to it later to complete it.

    PixMaker Scenes can be saved in the following formats:
    JPEG (.jpg)
    Bitmap (.bmp)
    Tagged Image File Format (.tif)
    Portable Network Graphics (.png)
    PixAround Image file (.pij)

     
  11. What is the average loading speed of a PixMaker Scene?
    The loading speed is dependent on the size and resolution of your PixMaker Scene (image), the size of the Java applet (the .jar file used for PixMaker Scenes without Hotspots is about 20KB, and with Hotspots, about 45KB), as well as the file size of your HTML page and other graphics on the page.

     
  12. What is the size of a typical PixMaker Webpage?
    The PixMaker Webpage includes the standard HTML text file, the JPEG image(s) used and the Java applet. The weight of the page depends very much on the quality of the image that you want. It can be as low as 40 KB or up to as much as 300 KB in size. Add this up to the size of the Java applet which is about 20KB* in size and the total size should be less than 100KB.

  13. How do I distribute PixMaker content to my friends or customers?
    The PixMaker software lets you generate PixMaker Postcards. These are self-contained executable files that include a viewer as well.

For instance, Object View stitching will benefit the product manufacturing and fashion industries because it showcases 360° views of products.   15. Do I need to know JavaScript in order to publish 360° images on the Web?
    No, you do not need to know JavaScript in order to publish 360° images on the web. PixMaker Scenes are viewed on web pages using Java applets.

     
  16. Are the application and/or image files for each Hotspot embedded in the PixMaker image?
    No, the application and/or image files for each Hotspot are not embedded in the PixMaker image. Clicking the Hotspots will load these files from their locations.

     
  17. What are the files that I need to upload in order to see my PixMaker Webpage on the Web?
    You will need to upload ALL the files generated by PixMaker when you publish your PixMaker Webpage. When you make changes to your PixMaker Webpage, replace the current files with the new ones generated by PixMaker before you upload them.

     
  18. What is a PixMaker Image file (.pij)?
    The PixMaker Image File format is a proprietary format that contains information on the stitched image based on the settings used to stitch it. When you load this format into either PixMaker Pro or PixScreen Lite, it will automatically load the Scene using the information provided.

     
  19. I would like to convert my PixMaker Scene into a Screen saver. Is it possible?
    Yes, now with PixMaker Pro, you can convert Cylindrical Scenes into screen savers.

     
  20. Can I create a multimedia Postcard that can be used without using any plug-ins or player?
    Yes. You can create a PixMaker Postcard that is interactive with multiple Scenes and Sound using both the Scene and 3D Audio Embed Hotspots.

     
  21. I would like to display my own logo and icon on PixMaker Webpages and Postcards. Is it possible?
    Yes. Using the customization features in PixMaker Pro, you can select your own logo and icon for use in web pages and postcard. However, do note take there is a specific image size for the logo and icon.

     
  22. In PixMaker 1.0, I was unable to create Hotspots in both Flat and Object View Scenes. Will I be able to do so in PixMaker Pro?
    Yes, in PixMaker Pro, you will be able to create Hotspots in both Flat and Object View Scenes. In addition to that, both types of Scenes now support zooming.

     
  23. I would like use the PixMaker Scenes in my presentations. Is it possible?
    Yes, with PixMaker Pro, you can publish your PixMaker Scenes as an ActiveX control for use in Microsoft® PowerPoint.

     
  24. What languages is PixMaker Pro available in?
    PixMaker Pro is currently available in English only. We are currently working on the localized versions.

     
  25. Is there a Mac or Linux version planned?
    No. Currently, we are not providing PixMaker Pro in other operating systems; however, we are always examining our options. Should PixMaker Pro be developed for other operating systems, we will announce it on our website.
